National evaluation systems are essential pillars for effective, results-oriented governance. They provide evidence to assess the effectiveness of public policies and development programs while enabling informed decision-making. However, in many contexts, these systems face sustainability challenges due to political, economic, and social instability. Armed conflicts, government changes, economic crises, and natural disasters can compromise the continuity and effectiveness of national evaluation systems. However, despite these challenges, there are examples of successful national evaluation systems in unstable environments.
This webinar explores the challenges and opportunities for strengthening the sustainability of national evaluation systems in a context of instability, drawing on lessons learned and good practices identified in similar contexts.
